Fifteen Years In The Making
For over fifteen years now, even before the foundation was registered, we have been providing the homeless who shelter under bridges in the Houston, TX area, with prepared food, blankets and warm clothing during the winter months. We’ve also assisted in furnishing apartments for international students from the caribbean while they were studying here in Houston.
Recently, the Foundation has embarked upon a project in Africa that will allow one to become financially educated which should lead them to financial independence.
The idea was born after the President, Marie St. Juste and her Personal Assistant Marina Golden visited Africa with an invitation from Rev. Sunday Samuel Ativie, a Reverend who has a passion for the success of his people, especially the youth in his community. On arrival, Mrs. St Juste, was taken aback by the level of poverty that exists despite the tremendous talents and abilities with which the natives are endowed. As a nurturing and compassionate person as she is, she immediately went about taking matters in her own hands and decided to make a concerted effort to bring about the change they all need for lasting success.
Ideas to Reality
During that sixteen day visit, the President attended several meetings in Ikotun, Lagos State, Ibadan, Oyo State, Asaba, Delta State, Okene, Kogi State, Abuja, FCT, Akure, Ondo State, Onitsha, Anambra State, and Port Harcourt, River State, with government officials, bishops and other stakeholders which were arranged by Reverend Sunday, so as to develop a plan that would afford everyone an opportunity for success.
The President returned home quite saddened by the lack of resources limiting the african people from acquiring their highest potential.
Now more determined than ever, Mrs. St. Juste accepted the task at hand which was to turn the ideas from the meetings into reality.
After mulling the ideas, the President found it necessary to reconvene with counterparts and take her plan on a test drive so she returned to Nigeria with her assistant, Mrs. Golden in June of 2016 for further meetings in Nasarawa State, Kaduna State, Abuja, FCT, Akawanka, Lafia and Benue.
The overall plan was deemed as very well laid out, and the least expensive alternative. Due to financial constraints within the African communities, our program has to be funded by supporters and stakeholders alike.
